You are perfect

June 25, 2020

You are totally broken, and yet you are also totally perfect.

This is a paradox.

But, you should consider it carefully, because it's reality.

You're broken for the obvious reasons. You aren't good enough, you aren't smart enough, not enough people like you, you aren't talented enough, you aren't disciplined enough, you haven't achieved enough. You also made a bunch of bad decisions, and you will die before you correct all of them.

Wait, don't leave yet.

That's the bad news, but there's good news, too.

(the good news, of course, is that you're perfect)

You are perfect at being you. There's no one better.

It doesn't matter how smart you are, because intelligence is overrated, and causes a bunch of trouble anyway.

The people who don't like you have their own problems, and in fact you can use their dislike to further clarify your own values.

Discipline is overrated. Some of the most disciplined people are also the most miserable.

Your achievements and bad decisions are out of your hands at this point. So, you can stop feeling ashamed about them.

And yeah, you'll die imperfect. But, isn't that how it should be? Isn't that what you should expect from a being that has a finite lifespan and an infinite number of complaints?

Sounds perfect to me.
